If you’re ever in Hohenwald, Tennessee, stop by the elephant sanctuary. Retired elephants come there to be pampered and live out their days.

Each elephant comes to the sanctuary individually. But they quickly pair up with a friend. These pairs become inseparable. They spend all of their time together.

Tarra and Belle are as inseparable as any other pair. But their friendship is a little different. Tarra is an 8,700-pound elephant. Belle is a dog. Their friendship is touching and inspiring.
